6th grade Orientation and the Link for Sign-up

Pyle's 6th grade orientation is an opportunity for rising Pyle 6th graders to participate in some of the things that are common stressors of new middle school students - opening lockers, organizational tips and strategies, navigating 7 classes with Canvas and submitting your work, and a tour of important spots in the school. Students should sign up for only 1 session. There are morning and afternoon sessions available, and sessions will be held June 23rd, 24th, 25th, and August 4th, and 5th. This orientation is for students only - parents will have other opportunities to see the school and meet the teachers.
This is an optional program and if students aren't able to attend any of the offered dates, not to worry because 6th grade students will be having a non-instructional first day of school on Monday, Aug. 25, 2025. If students were unable to come to orientation, this will be a wonderful day for learning how to get into their lockers, getting to know the other students in their classes, learn their way around the school, and meet their teachers!

We can't wait to meet you!
Your future 6th grade Pyle teachers!

This is the link to sign up.

Congrats to the Math Team!

On Saturday, February 8th, the Pyle Math Team competed in the MathCounts Chapter competition at the University of Maryland. Out of all of the teams in Montgomery and Prince Georges County, the Pyle team got 2nd place! Congratulations to 8th graders Altay Duzyol, Rich He, Andrew Lin, and 7th grader Albert Zhou for an incredible job! They are headed to the Maryland State competition in March! In addition to that team of four, Pyle had two more individuals who scored high enough to also advance to the State competition. Congratulations to 7th grader Arjun Tumbapura and to 6th grader William Cheung

On Satuday March, 15th, the Pyle Math Team placed 10th in the entire state at the Maryland State Tournament. Congratulations again to 6th grader William Cheung; 7th graders Arjun Tumbapura and Albert Zhao; and 8th graders Altay Duzyol, Rich He, and Andrew Lin!

Congrats to our Minority Scholars!

On Saturday, March 1st, our scholars won 2nd place in the 1st Annual Black History Bowl! Our students did well with their knowledge of African American Heritage, had so much poise and confidence, and represented the Pyle family so well. Captain Isla Takem, along with fellow 8th graders Ibrahima Diatta and Quinn Urey, showed out and really shined while competing against 7 other MCPS Middle Schools in the event cosponsored by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity (Mu Nu Chapter) and Montgomery County Public Libraries. Congratulations!
